The VI-UTP-2300WP must be connected to a device from the VI-UTP23xy series at the other end of the line. Connecting multiple pairs of devices via the same cable can lead to transmission problems due to crosstalk between the different signals in the cable. Ideally, each device connection should therefore be made using separate cables. If several cables have to be connected in series on a connection route, it is important to make these transitions as technically sound as possible. This means that, ideally, professionally assembled RJ45 plugs should be used for the transitions. If this is not possible, e.g. when using telephone cables, care must be taken to unwind the stranding of the wire pairs as little as possible. The contact between the wires of the cables to be connected must be as good as possible in terms of galvanic isolation. Shielded cables can cause problems due to equipotential bonding currents. Especially when connecting several cables in a central office, we recommend not grounding the shields in the central office.
